Founded in 1990, JMI Entertainment (James Mckindly Inc.) has stood as a fully independent production and distribution company at the intersection of music, film, television, streaming, consulting, and all that applies. With roots that run deep in the entertainment industry and a reputation built on experience and innovation, JMI continues to shape what’s next while honoring where it all began.
At the helm is Jim “Jay” Chevious, a visionary music executive, producer, and creative strategist with a career spanning over [number] years. His impact on the music world is undeniable, having collaborated with major labels such as Universal, Sony, Capitol, Motown/Bungalo, Orpheus, Warner Bros., RCA, Interscope, and Light/Qwest, and securing chart-topping singles and albums on the Billboard Top 20. With his leadership, JMI evolved beyond music to expand into film, television, streaming, and broader consulting services, positioning the company as a trusted partner to some of the biggest platforms and networks in the world — including Netflix, BET, etc.
JMI operates through two distinct but connected creative divisions:
Brodantre, which develops and distributes scripted and unscripted content across TV, film, and streaming platforms. From original IP to strategic co-productions, Brodantre is where powerful stories are shaped for the screen.
Inderoc, the music arm of JMI, which continues to discover, produce, and distribute genre-defining sound, while supporting artists, sync opportunities, and industry partnerships.
Throughout the years, JMI has remained independent — by choice — allowing for creative control, flexible collaborations, and a commitment to projects that align with both purpose and cultural relevance. We’ve built long-term relationships with studios, artists, distributors, and fellow producers by focusing on the work — not the noise — and delivering results that resonate.
